Interventional radiology refers to a specialized area of radiology that uses X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound and other imaging technologies to treat a variety of medical conditions without surgery. These minimally invasive procedures include biopsies, inserting venous access devices, draining fluids and opening narrowed blood vessels.
What to Expect
Our team will escort you to a procedure suite and make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
An anesthesiologist will monitor your sedation throughout the entire procedure if sedation is required.
When finished, you will be transported back to the recovery room.
Exam times vary greatly, depending on the type of procedure.
